Sassy, soulful, and full of charm, Alexis Yates is passionate about making her dreams become reality. She’s completed two years of the conservatory program at The Acting Studio in New York, with an emphasis on the Meisner Technique. Since her theater debut in Spoon River Anthology (playing Louise Smith and Mrs. Purkapile) at the Chelsea Repertory, Alexis has also starred as Evie Ames in No Place to be Somebody and written and starred in the short film, Stuck, as the lead role.
At an early age, although afraid to break through and pursue the art of acting, Alexis burned with a desire to enter the world of theater, television, and film. She desperately wanted to be part of the industry, in some way, but lacked the confidence and courage to pursue her dreams. However, when she graduated from Rutgers University with a bachelor’s in Business Management, she worked for various entertainment companies, such as: Jive Records, BurnLounge, and Madonna Ciccone. With a strong connection to the entertainment industry, the fire within her could no longer be ignored and she finally began to pursue a path toward her dream of being an actress.
Although a Jersey girl at heart, Alexis has also lived in Los Angeles, London, and New York. New York is especially dear to her, as she loves the thumping pulse of the city and the “grind” that lives in the hearts and souls of New Yorkers. This New York energy keeps her on her toes, driven and focused to continue to act.
Alexis is an up and coming actress with a radiance that sparkles in a black-and-white world. Deeply committed to her dreams, she has the drive to make them happen. She is compassionate, spiritual, and a very positive soul with much to offer. Her current goals are to seek challenging professional experiences and further develop her command in the acting industry by securing commercials and acting jobs for film and television.
