AMY GORDON (Artist/Playwright) Otherwise known as Amy G in the cabaret world, Gordon is a physical comedian/singer/actor that has thrilled audiences all over the world with performances of her original material on Broadway, Sydney Opera House, The Kennedy Center, Adelaide International Festival, Festival International de Teatro de Bogota and Montreal’s Just For Laughs, among others. Since 2006, she’s been featured with the Olivier-Awarded circus cabaret, La Clique/La Soiree; including the recent Off-Broadway season, garnering such fans such as Whoopi Goldberg, Bill Irwin and Todd Robbins at the Union Square Theatre. Past seasons include London’s West End Hippodrome, Paris’ iconic Bobino and seasons in Melbourne, Sydney, Dublin, Denmark, Stockholm, New York, Chicago, Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Buenos Aires and others.
Her current solo piece, Entershamement premiered in Dresden, in 2012, played the Metropol in Vienna, Joe’s Pub in New York, The Triple Door in Seattle and was the Grand Opening production of the new Carrie Hamilton Theatre at the Pasadena Playhouse in LA. It made major critical waves at the 2014 Edinburgh Fringe which was followed by shows at the London Wonderground, the London Hippodrome, and a European tour in 2015.
Her first solo show and CD of original songs, Round She Goes, premiered in Dublin in The Bosco, played in NYC at The Deluxe, Joe’s Pub (The Public Theater), and Fisher Center Spiegeltent. At the Festival of Dreams in Innsbruck, Austria, she performed the show in German, and the next year it toured around France in French. She is the comic MC/Singer for Palazzo dinner-spectacle, Fools for Love, premiered in 2010 in Amsterdam, and has played since in Berlin, Vienna, Stuttgart, and Nuremberg. Other European cabaret credits include hosting Zurich’s sexy circus, Ohlala, GOP, Quatsch Comedy Club, and numerous appearances on German, French and Austrian television as the subject of documentaries, comedy specials and general intrigue.
Formerly co-director and lead clown of the Daredevil Opera Company, she created and performed the pyrotechnic clown shows, Cirkus Inferno and Rocket and Roxy’s Untimely, Tragic and Fiery Death Stunt Show. She has a degree in Acting from Western Washington University and has studied clown and physical comedy with Phillipe Gaulier, Avner Eisenberg, David Shiner, Rene Bazinet, and Kenny Raskin, among others.
