Athena Colón serves as a teaching artist with Urban Arts Partnership empowering kids through theater education and social responsibility.
A native New Yorker, born in the Bronx, Athena started performing at the age of five in her family living room. With the support of her mother, she became a member of City Lights Youth Theater and Henry Street Settlement’s Urban Youth Theater. Soon after, she embarked on a life-changing performance tour, acting in a Suzuki production of “Third Child” in Italy, Prague and Peru.
She is a film, television, digital and theatrical actress. Athena recently booked Scorsese’s HBO Pilot: Rock N’ Roll as Antoinette Galasso! Her credits include Law & Order: SVU, Extra Gum Commercial ‘Office Joust’ and ‘Elevator Button’, Candido Tirado’s ‘Mommas Boyz’, Oprah’s ‘Unfaithful’, and digitally acclaimed web series ‘East WillyB’ and ‘Lenox Avenue’.
Teaching theater arts is a passion and life mission. She serves as a teaching artist and guest artist for the Manhattan Theater Club, Theater Development Fund, Family Life Theater, Repetorio Español, and Educational Play Productions. She is thrilled to become a member of the Urban Arts Partnership community.
Athena resides in Brooklyn, NY and holds a BFA in Acting from Long Island University, C.W. Post.
