Elyse Brandau is an actor, comedian, and writer based in New York. With wit, timing, and a gregarious flare, she performs and writes sketch comedy, acts in tv and film, gives the official Sex and the City tour, and eats a LOT of guacamole.
Her acting journey started at the Governor School of Performing Arts at the University of Richmond. She participated in all staged school productions and was given personal recognition when her high school won the AAA state championship one act festival of 2003. She started college at Virginia Tech with a major in Theatre Arts, was cast in several productions in the Wohlfahrt Haus Theatre, then made the transfer to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. From there she trained for many years in long for improv and sketch at the Upright Citizens Brigade, NY where she became a house team sketch performer and New York finalist for the Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal.
Elyse has performed in NY theaters such as the Gene Frankel, Manhattan Rep, and Ars Nova, and sketch comedy at UCB, Magnet, and PIT. Since then, she has transitioned in to tv and film and has studied with Bob Krakower, Austin Pendleton, Heidi Marshall.
