Emily EvansActor

Emily is a NYC based actor and comedian. She grew up in rural Vermont, and first began performing at age four when she enrolled in ballet. By age nine she was dancing competitively and at age fourteen she was given the “Broadway Bound” Award at the international Pick The Stars Dance Competition. From dance she quickly ventured into musical theatre, from musicals to straight plays, from plays to the screen.
Upon graduating from the University of Vermont Emily moved to New York City to begin her career. In the first year she was cast as the lead of an Equity production of “Out of Sterno”. She quickly realized her affinity for comedy and began taking class at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. Now Emily performs regularly at UCB, as well as with her all-female indie improv team The Sisterwives. She performs stand-up all around NYC (Carolines, Dangerfields, The Stand, etc), her stand up material focuses on her experiences as a lesbian, a person with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and how difficult it is for her to be so pretty. She also writes/produces/and performs sketch comedy as a part of the comedy duo The Pineapple Sisters.
Emily is passionate about authenticity, and works as an actor to share human truths, and hopefully laughter. She is an advocate for mental health, for LGBT equality and representation, and has an undying devotion to all things Meryl Streep.
