It has been a long journey from the mountain town of Hazard, Kentucky, where I was born, to the place I now proudly call my hometown: New York City. I received my BFA in acting from Boston University, and gained a Master’s degree from Columbia University. There, my principal field of study was American history, and I continue to find the tragedies and comedies of our nation as dramatic and absorbing as anything on screen or stage.
My stage life has been varied, from William Shakespeare and Sam Shepherd, from Samuel Beckett and Charles Busch with a touch of Oscar Wilde along the way. As an actor, I learn from the world I know surrounding me–from my family and my friends and colleagues—and from the world of imagination and dreams.
Acting is everything: work and play and meat and drink.
