A born-and-bred Virginian, Gavin Rohrer continues to provide Southern hospitality to the theatre. Raised in the Chesapeake Bay area, Gavin Rohrer found the stage. While attending U.Va, he portrayed notable roles such as Che in EVITA and Leo Frank in PARADE (both for which he received an Irene Ryan Award Nomination), Sweeney Todd in SWEENEY TODD, Mark in RENT, Jon in TICK, TICK…BOOM! and Tybalt in ROMEO & JULIET.
Gavin is currently seen throughout town performing at staple venues, such as 54 Below, The Metropolitan Club and The Cutting Room. He spent a good deal of time collaborating with Earl Wilson, Jr. on the revival of his magnum opus, LET MY PEOPLE COME. Featured as a crooning soloist, he performed the cabaret standard “Take Me Home With You.” He also played Achilles in ACHILLES IN HEELS, a new farce that challenges our Puritanical view of Ancient Greek culture.
When he isn’t singing and dancing, Gavin can be seen writing poetry or music, painting and making mint juleps. He is also a professional pianist.
