Jameelah LeaundraActor

Born in Indiana & raised in Germany, Jameelah is a classically trained soprano who is devoted to performing both opera and musical theatre. Her time abroad gave her a great appreciation of the arts, languages, & traveling the world.

Jameelah fulfilled her Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance at Otterbein University. She interned with Washington National Opera at the
John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. While there she sang with the National Broadway Chorus in Washington DC.

Jameelah has performed roles in shows such as AIDA (Aida), Cinderella (Cinderella), West Side Story (Maria), Hairspray (Dynamite/Lorraine/Cindy Watkins), Heathers: The Musical (Heather Duke), and Twelfth Night (Olivia). She has also performed with the Indianapolis Opera Chorus for their concerts Opera’s Rising Stars and Crescendo Concert.

In 2015 she received first place in the Hal Leonard Corporation musical theatre competition and an Emerging Talent Award from the distinguished Kurt Weill Foundations Lotte Lenya Competition. She was also awarded Best Actress in a Musical in 2017 by Broadway World Denver for her performance of Aida in AIDA.
