Jamin FlabianoTenor

Character Tenor, Jamin Flabiano will be performing the role of Tobias Ragg in Sweeney Todd at Nevada Opera in September 2012. He recently returned to the Fort Worth Opera as Basilio in Le Nozze di Figaro. In March 2012, Jamin made his debut at Shreveport Opera as Goro in Madama Butterfly. He also debuted at Sarasota Opera as Goro in November 2011. He performed the role of Tanzmeister in Ariadne auf Naxos in Tel Aviv, Israel as well as Alfred in Die Fledermaus with the New Rochelle Opera. Other recent engagements include Bardolfo in Falstaff with Mecury Opera and Toledo Opera, and Ali in Zémire et Azor at the Greenwood Music Festival in South Carolina. He also returned to Carnegie Hall to perform New Music works in collaboration with the Remarkable Theater Brigade

Jamin joined the prestigious Glimmerglass American Young Artist program in the summer of 2009 where he covered the roles of the Magician in The Consul and The Sailor in Dido and Aeneas. He was seen as Father Grenville in the Fort Worth Opera production of Dead Man Walking in addition to covering the role of Remendado in Carmen. He also performed the role of Beppe in Pagliacci with the Opera Company of North Carolina.

From 2006 to 2008, Jamin was a Young Artist with the Fort Worth Opera. During his time in Texas, he performed the role of Pang in the Fort Worth Opera production of Turandot, Bardolfo in Falstaff, Kaspar in Amahl and the Night Visitors and Humbert in the world premiere of Frau Margot. He also performed the roles of Jack in Jack and the Beanstalk and the Witch in Hansel and Gretel with the Fort Worth Children’s Opera Theater. After attending college on a trumpet performance scholarship at Texas Christian University, he realized his passion was opera. He transferred to Oklahoma City University where he completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in vocal performance. Upon arriving in New York, Jamin furthered his studies in opera as a scholarship student at the Manhattan School of Music.
