Jemma JaneActor

Jemma Jane is a performer most recently known for her role as Olive Neal in the First National Tour of “Bullets Over Broadway”, a production that gave her the opportunity to work with an amazing team including award-winner Jeff Whiting, who was recently hailed ‘director with a joyous touch’ by the New York Times and five-time Tony award-winner Susan Stroman. Jane’s portrayal of the comedic role; which she booked directly after graduating the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC, received such critical acclaim as this; “Jemma Jane’s character of Olive Neal is a classic, evoking Judy Holliday and Miss Adelaide from “Guys and Dolls.” While commented: “The raucously rambunctious Jemma Jane steals virtually every scene she is in” and“It’s Jane who walks off with the show…she grabs ahold of every scene with gusto. And I have to say her “Hot Dog Song” alone was worth the price of admission.”

Prior to moving to New York Jemma performed a multitude of shows in Australia including “Little Shop of Horrors” (Audrey), “Cabaret”, “Miss Saigon”, “Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat”, and “Rent” for which she received feedback from noted media publications in the Sydney area such as, Stage Whispers who wrote; “Channeling Marilyn Monroe as Audrey, Jemma develops a deliciously textured interpretation of Audrey; in a role that’s sometimes just a little too sweet, when this girl tells you she’s got a dark past, it’s there, subtly but clearly embedded in the playing. She has a terrific music theatre voice, and might well totally steal the night…” Jemma also studied at institutions in Sydney such as the National Institute of Dramatic Art, Sydney Dance Company and The Screen Actors Workshop.
