Madeleine MorrellActor

Madeleine Morrell hails from New York City. She has had Shakespeare training from Shakespeare & Company in Lenox MA.
Madeleine aspires to consistently depict female characters of incredible intensity and intellect. While she is regularly attracted to Shakespeare and other classical plays, Madeleine feels a strong urge to characterize dominant modern women that encompass a vast emotional range whom she characterizes for the screen and stage incredibly well. Characters such as “Steph” from Neil LaBute’s Reasons to be Pretty/Reasons to be Happy,“Carol” from Mamet’s Oleanna, and “Veronica” from Stephen Adly Guirgis’ Motherfucker with the Hat are some examples. Overall, she incredibly thrilled and honored to be a part of the Encompass Arts family and can’t wait to see what the future holds.

Her favorite roles include “Phoebe”in Shakespeare & Company’s production of As You Like It, as well as “Lady Anne” in Richard the III at Shakespeare & Company, and “Nobs” (Lead) in Bad Quorto’s production of The Life and Death of Jack Straw. She has played the lead role of “Cora” in the independent film, Look at Me, directed by Stefan Hedmark, the lead role of “Mila” in the web series the 101 Struggles of Mila, and “Amy Fuller in Ana Karen Guzman’s short film The Faulty Machine. She has written many modern and shakespearean pieces of music, as well as the music/lyrics to Sarah Kane’s 4.48 Psychosis Directed by Vinny Eden Ortega produced by The Dare Tactic, and many shakespearean songs that have been used for a multitude of different shows.
