Marlena was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona and knew she wanted to be an actor from the moment she first saw Saved By The Bell (who DIDN’T want to be Kelly Kapowski?) Marlena acted locally throughout high school and finally left The Old Pueblo to attend New York University’s prestigious Tisch School of the Arts. There, she got her foundation at the Meisner Studio where she was presented with the Award for Outstanding Achievement, and then went on to Classical Studio and Experimental Theatre Wing. She also spent a summer studying at the International Theatre Wing in Amsterdam.
Theatrically, Marlena was directed by Tony Award nominee Tim Carroll on the play The Possibilities, and has worked with Queens Shakespeare, the Lake George Theatre Lab, and is a proud member of the classical theatre company, No Name Collective. Marlena has also appeared on Discovery ID’s Scorned: Love Kills and has worked with Emmy Award winning director Derek Barbanti in the pilot Wits End. As well, she has appeared in several short films and webisodes which have appeared on Elite Daily and taken home awards domestically and abroad (including the Sydney Indie Film Festival and the Mexico International Film Festival). Marlena has appeared in numerous commercials for companies such as Glenwood Realty, SAP Technology, the BriefMe app, and the feminist clothing line Raging Bush.
Marlena is an avid adventurer and world traveler, and can be found bungee jumping, skydiving, and hiking in her spare time.
