Sahra Vang is a writer, filmmaker and performance artist who found her passion for the stage through spoken word poetry. Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Sahra is a first generation Vietnamese American whose parents fled Vietnam by boat after the war.
In undergrad at UCLA, Sahra studied performance art and creative writing through her double major in World Arts & Cultures and Ethnic Studies. She has toured the country performing at over 50 universities, colleges and venues, including the Kennedy Center.
When she’s not performing on stage, Sahra enjoys being behind the camera and telling inspiring stories through film. She produces and films a web docuseries about creative entrepreneurs called, “Maker’s Lane,” which has been featured on NBC News, The Huffington Post and Colorlines.
