Raved as a “standout” who “turned heads” by DC Theater Scene, soprano Andrea Beasom most recently performed at The Kennedy Center in Alcina under the direction of Anne Bogart. She has sung in Der Fliegende Holländer with Hawaii Opera Theater, Aida, Der Fliegende Holländer, Lost InThe Stars, and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater at the Glimmerglass Festival, and The Music Man with which she also toured to The Royal Opera House of Muscat. In addition to her classical repertoire, Andrea has appeared Off-Broadway in On the Town with Encores! @ New York City Center and Can-Can at the Pasadena Playhouse with tony award-winning directors and choreographers.

Before she discovered her singing voice, Andrea performed as a professional dancer with Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet Studio, Pasadena Dance Theater and numerous opera companies around the country. Most notable credits include a principal dancer in La Traviata with the Los Angeles Opera, The Merry Widow with the Dallas Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Los Angeles Opera, and Showboat and the Damnation of Faust with the Lyric Opera of Chicago. In addition to her theatrical credits, she has appeared as a featured dancer in commercial industrials for Sony, Puma, Moncler, Microsoft and the film The One That I Want. Andrea has also choreographed and assistant directed for the renowned opera director Francesca Zambello for The Little Match Girl Passions at The Glimmerglass Festival and the world premiere of Jeanine Tesori’s The Lion, The Unicorn & Me at The Kennedy Center. Throughout her dance career she has won awards for both ballet and choreography.

Next, she will perform as a soloist in Candide with the LA Opera. 

Andrea holds a BA in vocal performance from Mannes The New School for Music and lives in New York City.
