Maggie Carr is an actress, writer, and producer who hails from Pittsburgh, PA, but has fallen in love with New York! She is very excited to be working with Kathy at Encompass Arts.

Maggie enjoys bringing her unique combination of comedic chops, work ethic, and boundless energy to every project she’s involved in. Her credits as a stage actor include a number of productions with the Pittsburgh CLO, including the current revamped version of First Date (dir. Benjamin Endsley Klein), the world premiere of Kooman and Dimond’s Judge Jackie Justice (dir. Van Kaplan), and the CLO’s acclaimed production of Kopit and Yeston’s Phantom (dir. Barry Ivan). She also wrote a One Act play, Open House, which was published in LIC One Act Plays 2013 Anthology, and is currently hard at work on two new scripts, one for a new musical and one for a new movie.

In addition to her theater background, she has spent much of the last few years writing, developing, producing, and acting in a variety of exciting new projects that span a wide range of media. Last year she wrote, produced, and starred in the short film “Maggie Vs. Evil Dead”, which received acclaim in the horror world and garnered the attention of one of her personal heroes, Bruce Campbell. She also co-created and co-starred in “The Sisters Sorella”, which began as a live monthly sitcom and is now transitioning into a web series. Maggie’s most recent work in New York is as a producer and co-star of the new play Walken on Sunshine, which received a reading in October with the hopes of a full-fledged production at the New York Fringe Festival this summer.
