David DeWitt appeared as Monsieur Reyer in the Broadway National Tour of The Phantom of the Opera, where he toured most of the United States and much of Canada for nearly eight years. He has appeared as Gus in the Broadway National Tour of Cats, Webber in The Last Empress at Lincoln Center, and as Javert in Les Miserables at Northern Stage. In 2016 he played Nate in Newton’s Cradle with the New York Musical Festival directed by Tony award winning actress/director Victoria Clark.
Film and TV credits include the Make-up Artist in Woody Allen’s Sweet and Lowdown, Michael in Under Shelter, Oscar in Outside the Window, Rusty in King’s Day Out and Michael and Sammy in the Mary Tyler Moore TV series, New York News.
David and his wife Erin Stewart perform together frequently and have appeared recently with The Northern Dutchess Symphony, The Chappaqua Orchestra, Baltimore Musicale, The Festival of the Arts at Mohonk Mountain House, Shadowland Stages, and more. They recently created a cabaret-concert titled Married with Child where they sing their favorite songs about the ups and downs of marriage and parenting from the Great White Way, The Great American Songbook, as well as old Hollywood gems while sharing humorous anecdotes from their experiences as parents and as a couple.
In addition to being an actor and singer, David is also an accomplished painter & writer. He writes a monthly column titled Daddy Debrief with Livelihood Magazine.
