Italian soprano Valentina Boi most recently starred in the title role of Mascagni’s Iris in Livorno and Pisa, Adalgisa in Norma in Genova, Isaure in Jérusalem at the Festival Verdi in Parma, and made her La Scala debut in Francesca da Rimini as Garsenda. He upcoming engagements include: debuting the roles of Amelia in Un ballo in maschera in Parma, Nedda in Genova and Fedora in Lecce and Foggia. In 2017 she performed Alice Fordrole in Falstaff at the Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova and in the title role of Tosca at Macedonian Skopje Opera Theater. In 2016, after traveling to Tokyo and Toyama with the contemporary opera Junior Butterfly by Shaegusa, she performed Mimì in La Bohème at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari and in Trapani and debuted as the title role in Aida at the Teatro Goldoni di Livorno in the prestigious Franco Zeffirelli production, conducted by Marco Boemi. For the inauguration of the Huafa Theater in Zhuhai (China) she sang Liuin Turandot alongside Elena Pankratova and Rubens Pellizzari under the baton of Valerio Galli, the role she had also performed at the 61st Festival Puccini di Torrel del Lago alongside Giovanna Casolla and Rudy Park. In November of 2015, she debuted as Mimì in La Bohème at the Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari, conducted by Maurizio Barbacini. She also debuted the role of Giulietta in Les Contes d’Hoffmann in Pisa, Lucca, Livorno, and Novara and Giorgetta in Il Tabarro in the 60th Festival Puccini di Torre del Lago under the baton of Bruno Nicoli, which aroused both public and critical acclaim.
She began her musical studies as a child, attending classes of violin and piano at the Music Institute Pietro Mascagni in Livorno. Parallel to her conservatory studies, from 2003 to 2010 she expanded her education by attending courses of dance and acting in various European cities with Augustì Humet, Lorenzo Mucci, Ugo Chiti, Nikolai Karpov and Saverio Marconi. During a brief, but intense stint in acting, she performed in such shows as La Gatta Cenerentola by De Simone and in the lead roles of various musicals in English. She received her diploma in 2010 at the Music Institute Partial L. Boccherini of Lucca and continued perfecting her studies later with Luciana Serra, Lucetta Bizzi and Luigi Roni in Milan and the highly accredited Academy of Torre del Lago. She has participated in the courses of Giovanna Casolla, Bruna Baglioni, Donata D’Annunzio Lombardi, Alberto Gazale, Laura Brioli and Daniela Dessi. She currently studies with the baritone Federico Longhi.
